Nangis, France – Two year monitoring study of Hybrid Ventilation

A two year study of hybrid ventilation (also known as assisted Passive Stack Ventilation or aPSV), was carried out on 55 apartment dwellings at Nangis (near Paris). During the period of the study, measurements of pressure, airflow, temperature, and humidity were recorded and collated.

This study confirmed the expected performance of the system in delivering improved indoor air quality, decreased condensation risks, and limited thermal losses. The use of intermittent low pressure mechanical assistance (when required), with humidity sensitive controls was also found to optimise the operation of the natural forces of wind and stack effect.
